Title: ASTERIX is just about almost any day real-soon-now finished
Hi again,,, Progress with my holiday project has been slow recently, but now
I've only got to code the 'unalias' routine and I'll be finished
with the coding of the shell. Then I go onto Part4 -- Writing up the
docs -- Not looking forward to it (I hate writing, espech when I have
to explain everything, like in Physics reports).
Since the last report I've just developed the shell (MV, ALIAS, Flags, improved
line preprocessor, fixed up file redirection, blah), wrote a 'game'
(Wireworld), included the printer as a device, plus a few other things,
bit I've forgotten what they are (!)
In reply to one of Mark's ideas, I've been thinking of including a simple text
processor 'NR' (something like NROFF) to get around the 40/80
columns dispute.
The memory from $E000-$FFFF is allocated as program workspace, but it shouldn't
be a problem to fit a few 'liberated' Music routines in there and run
them with the IRQ. I might try IK+ dis'arvo. (ASTERIX - a truely
polyphonic operating system?)
Decided on the name. ASTERIX now stands for:

Rationalised

Ciao!
